Grows 1 month every 6,900 blocks. It will outlive you
Every 6,900 blocks, one month passes for the bonsai. About a day of your time. You cannot water it, prune it, or hurry it. You can only come back and see what changed.
Two brown pixels in a glazed pot. Every bonsai in the garden started this way.
A first piece of trunk, no taller than the rim of the pot.
Leaves arrive slowly. For a long while the pot looks bigger than the bonsai.
The trunk bends into its style. Some grow straight, some lean, a rare few cascade over the edge of the pot.
The canopy fills in, season by season. Bonsai with blossoms keep them closed for years yet.
Nine years old. It finally looks like a bonsai, and like no other bonsai in the garden.
The bonsai is fully grown. From now on it only grows old, which is the part that matters.
You will die.
Your children will die.
Their children will die.
Your bonsai will keep growing.

10× slower · forever · cannot be patched
The contract was supposed to say 690 blocks per month. Somewhere in the final edits, an AI wrote 6900. Nobody caught the extra zero until the contract was live, and a live contract cannot be changed.
Every bonsai in the collection now grows ten times slower than promised. A bonsai meant to mature over a summer will take most of a decade.
We offered to fix it: a new contract, a migration, an airdrop. The holders said no. They had bought a slow bonsai, and they wanted to keep it.
“We had an apology drafted. We never got to post it.”
All of them are older than they were yesterday.
